The Green Luxe Living Lab is a real-world demonstration project in Arlington, Virginia created by Green Luxe Pods.
At the center of the lab is the Capsule MVP — an 8′ x 16′ high-performance backyard office prototype designed to test compact design, indoor air quality, cool roof performance, energy efficiency, and productive work-from-home space.
But the Living Lab is bigger than the Capsule.
The surrounding backyard is being redesigned as a working sustainability system, with productive garden beds, native and pollinator-supporting plantings, water-conscious irrigation, defined work paths, a meditation area, vertical growing, and better use of a compact residential lot.
The backyard is the lab.
The Capsule is the flagship prototype.
The landscape is the supporting system.
Together, they help answer one question:
How can a small residential lot work harder, perform better, and support a more sustainable way of living?
The Green Luxe Living Lab brings big sustainability questions down to a backyard scale.
Housing, land use, energy demand, stormwater, food systems, remote work, and climate resilience can feel overwhelming. But many of the solutions begin with better use of the spaces we already have.
The Living Lab is a small, practical demonstration of what is possible when compact design, ecology, building performance, and real estate thinking come together.

The Capsule MVP is Green Luxe Pods’ first physical proof-of-concept. It is designed as a compact, high-performance backyard office and testing platform for future Green Luxe Pods housing and small-space concepts.
